Cute and Inexpensive Summer Decor

Summer is a great time to spice up your decor. But, with all of the activities that come along with summer (trips to the pool, aquarium, zoo, etc.) you probably have little to no budget for this. Lucky for you, I have tons of ideas to save you money, and get some fun, fresh decor in your home.

Rearrange and dejunk!

Both are free and can have a huge impact. Purging makes you feel better and rearranging your room will force you to think about it in a different way.

Change out your art.

Take your framed photos and either replace them with different photos or a piece of art from your kids, nieces, nephews, any kid you know, or a beautiful piece of scrapbook paper. New art can completely change the look of your room.

Spray paint is your friend.

 For under $5 it can also completely change the look of the room.. Pick a couple fun summer shades, like lime green and teal,  or gold and yellow, the list goes on. Then take a few accessories and spray them It will modernize them and your space.

Make a new centerpiece for your coffee table or dining table.

The cheapest and most delicious centerpieces are simply made by placing fruit in a large glass container. Then you have a dual-duty centerpiece.

Bring the outdoors in!

Fresh flowers or a new plant will make your space more balanced and relaxed They don't cost much and give you something living in your space. If you have a black thumb (like me) then you can use other natural elements like woven baskets, rope, or even good silk flowers. Just make sure to dust them!

Use a scrap piece of fabric in an interesting way.

You could make a pillow cover, table runner, throw, or cover a lamp shade.

Canvas Drop Cloths!

This idea comes from my amazing Mom. Canvas drop cloths at Harbor Freight cost as little as $8.00. With this drop cloth you can make a number of things:

1. Homemade Art
2. Slip cover for a chair
3. Pillow covers (Which you can then paint with acrylic paints)
4. Curtains (that you can also paint)
5. Tablecloths
6. Table Runners
7. Place mats
8. Basket Linger
9. The list goes on...
