If you're like me and love to do a new project every once-in-a-while, then you have probably been stumped trying to figure out how to paint in the snow. I have a few tricks that will help you feed the creativity and not ruin your paint jobs.
First, this is a bit obvious, but if you have access to a garage, this is the best place to paint. For those who don't have that luxury, here are a few tips to getting it done anywhere.
Some great places to paint are an empty parking lot (a church works great for this), on concrete patio, or even in the middle of a quiet cul de sac.
Just remember that it needs to be at least 40 degrees Fahrenheit to allow the paint to dry. If you live in North Dakota or somewhere where 40 degrees is a pipedream, then create what Nicole Curtis from Rehab Addict calls "The Tent". You create a thick plastic tent (however you'd like) and then put a heater under it. It will work surprisingly well.
In the winter, allow for extra drying and curing time. Read the instructions! This will get you that perfect sprayed finish that you love. Make sure to sit on a chair or pillow - your buns will freeze and yes, it's happened to me. Consider using an old box to spray paint in. It will catch almost all of the overspray and your clean up will be minimal. And, don't be afraid! Just bundle up, follow these easy steps and you'll be successful.
Send me some pictures of your winter projects, and if I've missed a tip that you'd like to share, comment or send me a message!
