DIY Trash to Treasure Projects

Happy Summer!

Summer in my house means one thing - DIY projects (much to my husband's dismay). I want to share a few of my success stories and a few more ideas that will keep you thinking about your own spaces.

I posted this picture on Facebook and Instagram this week as a teaser for this post. I came across a rake without a handle at a flea market and thought to myself, "I can do something with this!"

I thought about just displaying it like it was - bringing in the rustic look to my living room, but I really wanted to do something creative with it that was both beautiful and functional. So, I created a new key hook by my front door, and here's how it turned out.

You can take just about anything and use it for something else, and you will get more compliments than you know what to do with. This project turned out great! You can even contact me if you have something you'd like to revamp and I'd be happy to give you a few ideas!

Another idea I had recently was to use your husband or dad's old button down shirt for a pillow cover. Because it has buttons, you can easily remove the cover to wash if needed, and it brings a tailored look to your space. I found a GREAT tutorial here if you'd like to try it for yourself. Let me know how yours turn out!
