Lamps, Lamps, Lamps

I don't know about y'all,  but it's incredibly hard to find cute lamps and lampshades,  and when you do,  they are crazy expensive.  So,  I found a cute &  cheap way to fix that.
Here's what I did:

I bought some cute curtains for my dining room at IKEA,  but they were way too long. So,  I cut them,  hemmed them, and was left with a long and skinny scrap of fabric and an ugly lamp.  When I tried to wrap the shade with the fabric,  I was annoyed that it was about three or four inches too short.  So,  I played with a few ideas that didn't work,  until I found this one.  It's a keeper.
I cut the fabric into long strips and pulled out the trusty glue gun.  Then I wove the fabric together for coverage all the way around the shade. You can do this with anything,  ribbons,  string,  miss–matched fabric, paper, really anything long and skinny.

Cheers!
